My Bedtime Story

Sorry my bedtime story is a bit late tonight - we had a barbecue! The story tonight made me a little bit hungry so I did run out in the middle because Mr Cox went into the kitchen so I thought there was the opportunity to score some food....

Hi everyone - just thought I would try on the new outfit a friend sent me for my birthday - blue to go with my new collar and lead. I think I look quite handsome in blue. I do prefer my red collar and lead when I'm visiting GTS because I want to match their uniform!

Hi everyone - well I went for my walk which was a lot of fun of course. I did get a bit wet but I don't mind at all and of course I have a thick coat which keeps a lot of the water off me anyway. I don't understand why humans don't have fur coats like me - so much more practical than having to put on your raincoat every time you need to go out in the rain! I am enjoying the weather being a little bit cooler - my black coat can make me very warm in hot weather.

My humans made me a lovely cake for dinner last night; a cake for dogs of course! It was made out of my favourite dog biscuits and cheese. Cheese is a special treat, that Mrs Cox gives me if I have been behaving. I felt very special yesterday!

Alan's Birthday Walk

I loved my walk with Mrs Cox today - I had put my teddy (well actually it's a bunny) on our deck so all the bear hunters out there could see it, so I wanted to see how many bears I could spot.  I was pleasantly surprised at how many I could see. Here are a couple of my favourite bears plus two photos of my bunny. I might get Mrs Cox to read me "We're Going on a Bear Hunt" again. If you like you could listen to her read it again too. Have you seen any bears in the windows of houses near you?

Happy Birthday to me! I'm five today!! A very special birthday because it means I'm old enough to go to school - I started ages ago though because it's different for dogs. I love going to school and seeing all my friends at Glen Taylor School. 
I'm so excited and I got presents this morning! New toys and a yummy pig's ear to eat. Delicious!

Have you been on any walks lately? Some of our neighbours are hiding bears in their windows so that we can look out for them. Maybe next time you go on a walk you can go on a bear hunt too!

My human and I have started a big puzzle today. This should keep us busy for a long time! My paws aren't very useful for picking up puzzle pieces but I can use my nose to point to the right pieces.

Hi there, gosh having all the family home is so tiring! They want to give me endless attention and walks around the block and play ball....I mean it's lovely but sometimes I just need a bit of time to myself. Does anyone in your family snore??

Alan amuses himself

The family is working again so I found some cool stuff to play with until they are ready to entertain me. Love playing with empty milk bottles (only with the lid off though because it's small enough to swallow - that wouldn't be good.) I can run around and hold it it my mouth and then have a good chew. I then leave it on the floor for someone else to pick up - along with the chewed toilet roll...I'm still not very good at putting my toys away when I'm finished playing with them but I'm nearly five now so I'm trying to remember to do it! Can't wait till my birthday on Monday!!

Alan's off for a walk

Hi my friends - I went for a lovely walk yesterday with Jacqueline and Nick. Unfortunately I couldn't resist jumping in the creek at the park so I had to have a wash under the cold hose when I got home. Mum says I will be staying on the lead on my walk today! Oh well - any walk is a good walk...

Alan was a very cute puppy

A lot of students ask Mrs Cox what I was like as a puppy so here I am! These photos were taken the day before I came to live with the Cox Family in June 2015 when I was nine weeks old. Wasn't I gorgeous? Going to live somewhere new was a little bit scary but I soon got used to it and I love it especially going to work with mum at Glen Taylor School and seeing all my friends.

Hi everyone, I'm just hanging out at home today - all my people are here which doesn't happen often so I'm loving it - perhaps I'll get extra treats? I'm missing Mr Herlihy feeding me! Anyway, everyone here seems to be working so I thought I would just help out by amusing myself for a while. I love sitting out on the deck in the sunshine and enjoying the flowers. Can you see my toy dinosaur in the corner of the picture? He's called Green Dino and is great to have a nibble on although mum (that's Mrs Cox) says I will ruin him if I do it too much. I know she has a spare one somewhere...

Here is my bedtime story from last night.  I was a little bit naughty at the start because I'm not used to being on camera.... I think I must have been a bit shy!  I will work harder to not be too shy!

Alan's First Post!

I am so excited!  Ms Wrack set up my very own blog for me, for you to follow and comment on.
Mrs Cox will take photos of me, video herself reading to me and post about all that I am doing while we are in isolation.  I'm going to miss going into Mr Herlihy's office for treats.  He hides them in his cupboard so Mrs Cox doesn't know that I'm eating them shhh don't tell her!!  Sometimes Ms Wrack even gives me treats if Mr Herlihy is away!!
