Alan Plays Nurse

Kia ora tamariki! Sorry this post is late and I didn't write last week but I've been very busy. Mrs Cox was sick last week and Mr Cox has been sick this week so I've had to stay home and look after them. They are so lucky to have me around....I'm amazing at looking after people as you can see from the photo I've included. I can sit by the bed or the couch and let them pat me to make them feel better and I can encourage them to keep eating little snacks to keep up their strength.....I do find they are not great at sharing them with me which is something I'll have to keep encouraging them to do!

Generally I sit around and look sympathetic....I'm very good at that. Anyway they are looking a lot better now so life is getting back to normal.

Alan's Weekend

Kia ora! Well, Saturday was a beautiful day and Mrs Cox and I went on a great walk together all the way from St John's Countdown (Mr Cox took us there in the car as it's his job to do the grocery shopping on a Saturday) to our house which is quite a long walk from there. We had to walk up quite a big hill at the beginning of our walk but I found it quite easy as I'm very fit! There were lots of great smells for me to sniff and we walked past the field where horses live - we couldn't see the horses though, I'm not sure where they were! I was ready for a large drink of water by the time we got home.

On Sunday the weather was terrible and so I missed out on my walk. Luckily Mr Cox decided some of our guttering needed fixing so off to Bunnings we went to buy some equipment he needed. I love Bunnings because dogs can go shopping there as long as they are on lead! It reminds me of the days when I was a guide dog and I could go almost anywhere - a nice trip down memory lane!

I hope you had a great weekend too!

Alan and Samoan Language Week

Talofa outou uma, it's Samoan Language Week! I,m looking forward to learning some new words and phrases in samoan and so is Mrs Cox. So, if you learn some new language or something new about Samoa or samoan culture be sure and stop us and tell us all about it. Or if you don't see us you can always write me a message.

Mrs Cox and her family were lucky enough to visit Samoa in 2019. They had never been there before and thought it was beautiful. They bought home a tapa cloth which now hangs in our house to remind us of our Samoan adventure. I've seen the beautiful tapa cloth in the library at school too - I love the turtles and I've discovered they are symbols of long life wellness and peace.
