Alan's Challenge of the Day ( 6 September)

Hello my Glen Taylor friends, time for challenge of the day again! Today it is slightly different - just to mix it up again. As it gets a little bit warmer we can see signs of spring especially in our gardens and in other people's gardens as we go for walks - and in parks and other areas where plants can grow!

So here are some pictures - see if you know the names of the flowers and let me know. You might have a gardening expert in your family that could help you - or in your class meet today see if someone can help!

Stay safe and be kind!

Alan Sees Signs of Spring

Kia ora tamariki ma, I was frolicking about in the garden at my house today and guess what I saw? We have had quite a few swan plants growing this year - even though we didn't plant them! It was a lovely surprise to find them and today when I went out I saw a butterfly just emerging from its chrysalis and sitting drying its wings in preparation for flying off. How exciting - I've never seen one so up close before. Then when I looked more closely I could see two caterpillars on the plant - one eating busily and one, who had obviously eaten all it could hold, hanging upside down ready to turn into a chrysalis! I'm going to go out everyday now and check up to see what's happening on the swan plant!

Keep safe and be kind.

Alan's Challenge of the Day (3 September)

Morena tamariki ma, here's my latest challenge of the day. It's about patterns - I like patterns whether it's looking at them, drawing them or solving puzzles about them. Perhaps that's why I enjoy maths so much? After all maths is all about patterns isn't it?

I think Mrs Cox enjoys knitting because it's a form of maths - did you know that?

Answer to yesterday's challenge of the day: 4.  2 days  5. Thursday

Keep safe and be kind.

Alan and his Teddy

Kia ora tamariki ma, today I decided which of my teddies I would put in our window. It was very hard because I have quite a few to choose from and I love them all. I hope all the people who walk past our house enjoy seeing them. The pig and the big brown bear belong to Jacqueline (my 'sister') but she lets me cuddle them when she is away because she is very kind. I got the smaller teddy for my sixth birthday this year and he is a very good size to snuggle with when I go to bed at night.

Keep safe and be kind.

Alan Spots More Teddies

Kia ora tamariki ma, It's been a lovely day today and I went for a long walk with Mr and Mrs Cox. I saw lots of teddies today and even one sitting in a shop window - that was a surprise but I guess someone thought to put it there the day we were told lockdown was starting. That was clever and very kind.

The teddy I like at the best is the one in the tree in an aeroplane - it's gorgeous and so much fun! Which one do you like the best?

Keep safe and be kind.

Alan's Challenge of the Day (1 September)

Morena tamariki ma, it's challenge of the day time again! Quite a tricky one - you will need to look very closely at the pictures and compare them. Good luck!

Answer for yesterday's challenge. Emma chose the first shop because that hairdresser must be the person who cut the hairdresser in the second shops hair (The hairdresser in the second shop had nicely cut hair).

Keep safe and be kind.
